questions
Get answers to common questions about Aromatic, from customization to features, and see how it can help grow your business.
What media sanitization standards does TDG follow?
TDG follows NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 and VA Handbook 6500. We sanitize using NSA-approved equipment and then destroy media by shredding or EPA-approved incineration, issuing a Certificate of Destruction for each item.
Which media types can TDG sanitize and destroy?
Hard drives, SSDs, tapes, optical media, cassettes, microfiche, printer ribbons, x-rays, USB/removable media, and mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, cameras). We provide RFID tags for devices lacking visible serials to maintain item-level traceability.
How fast is TDG’s media sanitization turnaround and how is chain of custody managed?
We typically complete sanitization and destruction within 15 days of receipt. TDG provides secure shipping containers, sequential locks/labels, and a web portal for end-to-end chain-of-custody tracking, from shipment to certified destruction.
Does TDG support large-scale sanitization programs?
Yes. In 2024, TDG destroyed 300,000+ devices totaling 100,000+ pounds of media across CONUS VA facilities—demonstrating enterprise capacity, logistics, and reporting at scale.
