Description of Contract work: TDG performed the USDA Risk Management Framework Step 4 certification and accreditation services for the USDA CIO’s Enterprise Architecture Repository (EAR).
The USDA relies on its information technology systems to accomplish its mission of providing cost-effective and reliable services to the USDA, other Federal agencies, and the public at large. The production EAR environment is physically located in the National Information Technology Center (NITC) data center. The database server is located within the NITC Mid-Range LAN stack. The EAR Web server is within the NITC Platform as a Service (PaaS) Cloud. Communications between the web and database servers is through the NITC network providing secure services between these devices. The network includes, Nokia firewalls running Checkpoint, Cisco Routers/Switches, and Etrust/Dragon Intrusion Detection systems. The firewalls monitor and protect network activity using Checkpoint software. The Cisco Routers/Switches manage traffic on the network. Etrust/Dragon Intrusion Detection Systems monitor the network for unusual behavior based on a set of pre-defined signatures.
The Enterprise Architecture Repository web application server and database servers are Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition.
