FNS ISO Support Services

Under a competitively awarded five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), TDG provides support to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) in the creation, planning, assisting and/or conducting training for security initiatives such as Contingency Planning/Disaster Recovery, Incident Response, and Security Awareness etc. and audits conducted within the Agency, as well as internal and external security data calls.  We also support the creation and modification of Standard Operating Procedures, Handbooks, and Guidelines.

 TDG was awarded the one of the first two task orders under the BPA.  The Task Order required having working and holistic understanding and knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF)as defined by National Institute of Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53 (current revision), Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems and NIST SP 800-53A Revision 1, USDA RMF Guide for Assessing the Security Controls in Federal Information Systems, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and the Office of Management and budget (OMB) in Circular A-130, Appendix III, Security of Federal Automated Information Resources.

 TDG serves as the source of technical expertise with regards to maintaining and improving the FNS Risk Management Framework implementation. In addition to providing tactical production operations support and Certification and Accreditation services, we also provide strategic guidance and recommendation for strategic planning and improvements to the systems/applications.

The purpose of this multiple award BPA is to assist the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), Office of Information Security (ISO), Office of Information Technology in its daily operating procedures and special projects.  Support includes creation, planning, assisting and/or conducting training for security initiatives such as Contingency Planning/Disaster Recovery, Incident Response, Security Awareness, etc. Support is required for audits conducted within the Agency as well as internal and external security data calls.

 Support (awarded under U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Information Technology Schedule 70, Special Item Number (SIN) 132 51 – Information Technology Professional Services) is also required for creating and modifying Standard Operating Procedures, Handbooks and Guidelines. All services are determined at the task order level as specific requirements arise. All agencies within the Department of Agriculture may issue task orders against this BPA.

 TDG won the initial task order under this BPA – Task Order 1 – Risk Management Framework Implementation.  Under this task order we have to have a working and holistic understanding and knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF)as defined by National Institute of Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53 (current revision), Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems and NIST SP 800-53A Revision 1, Guide for Assessing the Security Controls in Federal Information Systems.   We also have to understand the RMF Methodology as implemented at FNS and must meet the requirements of the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and the Office of Management and budget (OMB) in Circular A-130, Appendix III, Security of Federal Automated Information Resources.   TDG is the source of technical expertise with regards to maintaining and improving the FNS Risk Management Framework implementation.
